A small peek into the Plot of „Heart of Gaia: The Awakening”:
The Story of this novel is an epic tale of a millennia old fight between two entities known as Gaia and Deirdre. To understand the concept of the novel, you have to know one important fact: Deirdre is a goddess, mistress of demons, with powers that surpass any being on our plane. Gaia, on the other hand, is the condensed consciousness of the thinking beings on earth, sort of a demigod, with the planet being her body and her physical form being her mind.
The background of the novel goes well back to ancient times which only are heard of in legends bearing names like “dreamtime” or “paradise”.
It was this time when Gaia walked among all thinking beings as their mother, as the one who gave birth to all life on earth. One day suddenly an entity of superior power came to earth and started seducing Gaia’s children. She promised them eternal life in exchange for their loyalty. These beings became the first demons. Gaia knew that this goddess was evil throughout, so she gathered ten of her strongest knights to fight alongside her against Deirdre. But being stronger than Gaia, Deirdre had no trouble defeating her and the knights. Two of the knights lost their lives during this first battle.
So Gaia knew she would have no chance in defeating Deirdre. So she decided to split herself, and her body, in two pieces, creating a rift where she banished herself and Deirdre, entwined in battle for eternity. Four other knights died during this time, called “the time of the schism”. One of the Planets, called Thyrsis, she gave the power of magic to all sentient beings, the other, called Pangäa, she gave to the humans to rule over it alone in exchange for not being able to use magical powers. On each planet stayed two of the knights, watching over the rift….
So now you have two planets, one our world as we know it, the other, Thyrsis, a world where magic exists and humans are not the only thinking race, challenged by elves, dwarfs and other sentient races. And on each of these planets exists a bloodline of gaian knights, Damian being the ascendant on our world, and Sandoval on the other. These two, as different as they are, are entwined by fate, both bearing what is known as “the Mark of the Chosen”, which marks them as the ones who will challenge, and in the end defeat, Deirdre.
Without knowing at first, each of them embarks on an adventure to find the “foci”, magical stones used by Gaia to create the schism and also the key to unite the planets once again, freeing Deirdre and making her open to direct attack. Because what the bearer of the mark possesses is an angel’s soul within him, Damian the angel of life and Sandoval the angel of death, which when fused gives life to an entity created for one purpose, and one purpose alone: To slay a god(dess )….

What genre is this story? I mean, is it Manga/Anime based or is it something more along the lines of Diablo or Guildwars novels?

Woah, thats hard to answer. XD Well I would say its a sci-fi fantasy novel, influenced to some small extend by computer games like Final Fantasy, but mostly influenced by my own madness and crazyness. ;) If i find the time I will write a small introduction how I got the idea and how all came to life, but for now you will have to make due with this not very detailed answer ^_^

This can be turned into a game story line. :) Have you thought about turning it into a game campaign story line?
Oh yes, I have several times. ;) I even tried once to program one using "rpg-maker", if you know that. The only little problem here would be findig a game mechanic that fits the two very different worlds, one a slightly more modern version of our present, the other a steam-punky-medieval one, as well as the genre that's switching between adventure, rpg and action. But I think that this would be very well possible. ;)
Funny thing is, I'm planing on training as a computer-game designer in a few years (when I have the money for that ;) ), because there's a school for that here in vienna. But thanks for the feedback!

If you would sell your story concept to a game development company, what would you charge them?
Woah, no idea. ;) That would be a really hard decision, as I would then give away the control what is made out of it. If I would have the choice, I would take a contract to design the game together with this company over a large sum of cash any day. But even thinking about selling this story is a long way off, because it's still in very conceptual state. ;)

Your ideas are really awesome! I also read your character sheets and the article about magic. You have quite an imagination! What do you plan to do with your story after you write it? Get it printed maybe?

Well, time will tell. The greatest thing of course would be either have it published under a major publishing company or have it turned into a computer game be an equal major developer. But right now the plan is to "write a novel". But of course the story can also be fitted to a game or even a film or anime very easily. As I said, time will tell ;) But thanks for all the positive feedback! This really shows me I'm on the right path ^_^

XD I apologise a thousand times, but this is they way I want to create this novel. ;) By working on the background information first I ensure that everything stays consistent. And because I'm a perfectionist this takes quite some time.
So some time will pass until my novel is really finished... hell I don't even know if I'm able to just finish the concepts in under one year.
