Hi guys.
There are already some really good choir libraries that have more or less versatile and realistic word builders. To name just a few:
Quantum Leap Symphonic Choirs - PLAY Edition = $461
Requiem Light = $299
If you are on really low budget there are some free choir plugins/ libraries: DSK ChoirZ and Papelmedia Ahh-chior.
The only disadvantage is that if you use the free libraries you're stuck with only aahhh... UNTIL NOW!!
I proudly present you

The choir patch was developed by Mihai Sorohan (that's me) together with Richard Osborn for Mu.Lab Multisampla and Selcuk Bor (from Symphony of Specters) for Kontakt.
Choir:
Citrina - soprano & alto
Jelena - alto
Roman & Dimitri (Timohi) - tenor
JonnyZed - tenor
Mihai (sorohanro) - tenor & baritone
Gear used:
Microphone - AKG Perception 170
Preamp - Art Tube MP Project Series
Soundcard - M-Audio Audiophile 192
Samples at 32 bit float, 44.1 khz samplerate.
Mu.Lab Files
Download Mu.Lab Multisampla format patches separately
Download Mu.Lab Mux Patch
Download "Ave Maria Sound Alike" Mu.Lab session
Beware, if you use the Mu.Lab version you need:
- Mu.Lab (free version would do it just fine)
- Multisampla format patches separately - unzip them and copy the " Vowel Ensemble" folder to MULAB/User/Library/MuSynth - this will make available the separate patches (A, E, I, O and U) as Multisampla patches.
- Mux Patch that you copy to MULAB/User/Library/MUX - this put all the vowel patches into one "synth" that crossfade between vowels and allow you to make speech like patterns.
To see how is that done, you can download the "Ave Maria Sound Alike" file.
Kontakt Files
Download Kontakt "dry" Patch
Thanks. I'm glad that you find it useful :)
Would be nice to hear some more tracks made with it, so, if you make something please give me a sign (or post here... or both :D )
I might try it out. All of your sample packs are amazing. :)
Well, thank you. I'm glad that you think so.
Somehow I couldn't stop notice that the forum is a bit slow these days... any way to "resurrect" it ?
I can't say I know of many good ways to bring the forums back to life. But I'll see what I can do.
Maybe a contest ? Maybe a freebie ? Maybe instead of the player you have now on pages, you can put a embeddable one ? Maybe a player that can make slideshows automatically ? Maybe a game community ?
I guess I could try something like that. We've had contests before, when the site first launched and it had more members, but no one ever entered any of them. Unfortunately, I lack the tech skills to create a new embeddable player for the system we are using. I'll see if I can figure out how to make a gaming area on the forums though. That might attract more cool folks.
This is Brilliant! Currently still downloading it but, i listened to the samples on your website and i really like what i´ve heard so far.
Will as soon as this is installed put it to good use
Cheers!
Tried it out just now. And i can´t say there is anything bad about it. Not at all.
I choosed to download the nki-file and when playing around with the mod-wheel and adding some harmonising to the choir, it all sounded wonderful.
This is definitely one awesome choir plug.
@hamstercake
I'm glad that you find it useful. Somehow I find easier to work with the Mu.Lab version, maybe because I have only the Kontakt Player and in Mu.Lab I don't have any time restriction and I can automate it as I want.
Anyway, feel free to drop me a PM or post here when you make a track with it. I'll be curios to listen :)
Already on it :P
Btw, as a choir library with the amount of detail it has, i´m amazed at how low the poly-usage are.
I´m able to open up 6-7 channels, all with their own sound.
1: Ah
2: Ih
3: Eh
4: Oh
5: Uu
and 6 + when i want to layer some of the choir.
This without having any issues. I normally have to limit my choir to two, maybe three different voices. Record them,
and if i want any more i have to record them afterwards.
Now i can open up 6 + different voices and layer them on the same channel, this without any problems.
This is gonna be great to use for choir support. Especially when you want to use a different vsts soprano voice leading and then use Vowel Ensemble to be alto, bass etc.
All in all it´s great.
Will cook something up =)
Beware of new stuff coming up soon. It will be commercial but at fair prices.
