This is a list of features available on Fwunk and their descriptions:

  • Showcase - This is where all the upper quality works of members get featured. Each submission is hand picked by Fwunk Staff. The bottom line is if it looks or sounds professional, then it will likely be in the showcase.
  • Creative Writing - Allows you to submit a written work.
  • Image - Allows you to submit an image or photo.
  • Multimedia - Allows you to submit a video file (MOV, FLV, MP4, M4V), an audio file (MP3) or a Flash file (SWF).
  • Embed Video - Allows you to embed content found on another website such as YouTube or Vimeo.
  • Compilation - This feature enables a member to assemble a list of existing content (submitted by any member of the site) into one collection or portfolio. For example, if you created several chapters (as separate submissions) to a book you're writing and you want to group them all together, you can use this feature to compile them into one page where it lists all the chapters in any order you specify.
  • **Jobs** - A job can be one of the following: a paid job/gig, a trade of services, an internship, a casting call or a collaboration request. You can list a paid job or gig that relates to any creative line of works. A trade of services is where you offer to do something in trade for something that you need someone to do for you. An internship is normally offered by a company that can issue credit hours to a student for performing a line of work. A casting call is an event where you are looking for people to become involved in a project that you are coordinating, for example: a photoshoot, filmshoot or a public performance. Jobs listings are typically listed by scouts, however, artists may list jobs as well.
  • **Resume** - Create a resume so that you can apply to job offers.
  • **Classified Ads** - If you have something to sell or a creative service to offer, you may list it as a classified ad. Classified ads will automatically expire unless you cancel them early yourself.
  • Applications - These are various Design Applications provided by Aviary.com that you can run directly from our website. Please note that these applications require the latest Flash Player to be installed on your web browser. You can use these applications just like any other software that's installed on your computer. You may also upload your creation or design to your Fwunk portfolio.
  • Newsposts - A newspost is essentially a "blog" that you can write for those following you to keep up with your current affairs. It provides a way for your fans to see what you are up to or whether you have something interesting to share with them.
  • **Chat** - This is a chatroom feature known as IRC (Internet Relay Chat). It allows you to chat with other users who are in the chatroom. The chatroom is rated M for mature people of age 18 or older. Please be aware that harsh language may be in use.
  • Forums - This is where various topics can be discussed by all site members.
  • Groups - You can create a Group to host a project or "club" that brings together people with the same interests. You can configure your group so that when topics are posted only members in your group can see. You may also select a theme for your group.
  • Profiles - This is where you can write about yourself (or provide more information) to let others learn about you and your line of work. It is also where other members can contact you via a Status Message, Private Message, Email, or a link to your website.
  • Suggestion Box - If you have an idea to make your world more artistically beautiful and more pleasing, what would it be? This form allows you to let Fwunk know what you'd like to see implemented into the site or request something to be enhanced.
  • Invite a Friend - Use this feature to invite a friend to join you in the site. You will earn user points for each accepted invitation.
  • Friends - You can build up any size friends list you want on Fwunk. You can specify content to be only viewable by your Friends.
  • File Manager - You can store certain types of files in your file folder on Fwunk. When you make a post, you can reference a file from your folder such as an image.
  • Subscriptions - If you like content by an author, you can subscribe to that author. When that author publishes new content, the site will send you a notification either as a private message or email depending on your preference. You can also subscribe to a specific content if you want to be notified when someone replies to that content. You can also choose to be notified via private message or email when there is something new matching your subscription settings.
  • Messaging - You can send messages to other members of the site or you can email them directly using their enabled contact form.
  • **Status Message** - Allows you to set your status or tag someone on their profile. All statuses are public, so please be mindful of what you write.
  • Interviews - If you want to gain even more exposure for your creative work, you can request an interview from Fwunk. Interviews are posted to the frontpage of the site. The likeliness of Fwunk honoring your interview request really depends on where you are in your career as an artist. Fwunk staff will review all of your submissions, comments, votes and involvement in the community to make that determination.
  • User Points - Members are awarded points for doing things on the site such as posting comments, submitting content or even just for logging in. There are many ways to earn points on Fwunk. You will find out through experience. You can redeem fun prizes once you have collected certain amounts of points.
  • Ask a Question - If you can't find how to do something on Fwunk's website, then use this form to submit your question. If your question becomes oftenly asked by other users in the future, it will be included in the Help & FAQ section of the site.
  • Submit Art Resource - If you have (or know of) a site that offers a good art resource to everyone, let us know! If we find that it is, in fact, useful for everyone, then we will include it in the Art Resource list.
  • Submit a Tesimonial - Use this form to submit your testimony about the Fwunk website. What do you like about it? How has it helped you? How does it stand apart from other sites? Would you recommend it? Let us know what you think about Fwunk. If we choose to feature your testimonial on the frontpage, your profile will naturally get more hits.
  • **AddToAny** - This is a button that allows anyone to share a page (or site content). You can share a page on Facebook, Twitter, Delicious, Digg, and many share sites. For artists, this helps you get additional exposure for your content on Fwunk. For scouts, this helps expose your job listings.
  • **Value Score on Comments** - This feature allows members to indicate that a comment has value. A valuable comment usually has constructive criticism, is very professional in nature, is well written and concise. Essentially, the more value a comment has, the more attention it gets. Adversely, if a comment's value score falls below -5, it will become dimmed or less noticeable. This helps to inspire commenters to write higher quality comments as opposed to useless blabber.
